How to Contact Us

To request emergency services or report a hazardous situation dial 911.

Fire Service Contact Information for Pawlet Residents

If you have a question about fire protection for your home or business, wish to know more about our department, or wish to request non-emergency services, please leave a message at our station: (802) 325-3222. A fire department member will return your call as soon as possible. If you need to report an emergency call 911, not the station.

Burn Permits

A permit is required to burn brush under Vermont state law (Title 10 V.S.A. Chapter 83 § 2645). A permit is not needed for recreational fires in a firepit, or to burn brush when there is snow cover. To obtain a permit, call Dale Decker, Pawlet's Forest Fire Warden, at (802) 325-3721, or David Hosely, Assistant Forest Fire Warden, at (802) 558-6450.

Department Patches Policy

We get a lot of requests for department patches. We do have very cool patches! If you would like one, send $5 and a self-addressed stamped envelop to us at the address above, and include a note indicating that you want a patch. While we would love to trade, support good causes, and otherwise give away patches, our department policy is that this is not an appropriate use of our limited funds.
