The Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, financed partially by taxes allocated by the town of Pawlet, partially by fundraising events that occur throughout the year, and partially through the generous donations of individuals and businesses in our region who recognize the importance of timely emergency response. Pawlet taxpayers provide us with approximately two thirds of our operating budget, the rest we must raise. We have great fundraising events, including our famous auction in July and our cherished game supper in November. But a lot of our fundraising happens when generous area residents and businesses send us a check. Not only is this the most efficient and direct way possible to support us, but sending us a donation takes the fundraising burden off our volunteers, allowing them to focus on training and emergency response.
